MARCH MADNESS. . .

Daughter has finished the OUTLANDER series, so I’m going to go for it this Summer (and probably into the Fall, judging by the number of books, besides, of course, watching it on TV); also I’ll reread a pile of THE WRITER & WRITER’S DIGEST magazines I’ve accumulated.  Yep, gottalotta of time on my hands…I wish : |

As for MARCH MADNESS I’ll  work on my first draft efforts of a Contemporary Romance, and this BLOG, which will probably be mostly about Canines …for instance–

There has been a great deal of news regarding DOG FOOD, but I’m not going to speak negatively about the variety of dog foods available, except to say READ THE LABELS…check with a veterinarian especially before supplementing vitamin and/or minerals which can be a regulated added requirement to the diet for show/sport competition/stud/pregnancy/whelping stresses.  A water soluble Lecithin tablet will help metabolize Vit A.  Complete B-Complex (water soluble) is important to help alleviate stress.  A tsp or Tbls mixture of applecider vinegar and honey a day won’t hurt.  And, of course, there is Raspberry leaf supplement to aid bitches due to whelp.  A child’s Calcium tablet (with your veterinarian’s approval) can be important not only for growing puppies but for elderly dogs as well.

As a word of caution, please check with your Veterinarian or  knowledgeable breeder.

I’m Late…I’m Late…!

Been a couple of those days when you wish you could go back and see what differences you could make, and would those changes make things better or worse. Or just throw up your hands and get on with your life, where/whatever that may be. (Apparently I’ve chosen the latter).
I’ve not been a “true” blogger, however I do have a long list of them coming in daily. And, of course, there is FACEBOOK which I really enjoy, but the “friend” list is long and time consuming.
So make this my first (and probably not last) excuse for
happenstance .

MARCH MADNESS

Well I’m here as promised with  BLOG #1 (also promised an hour of daily work on my Novel Ms).  I’ll probably be all over the place with the blog.  As for the novel, well that has been in the works off and on for several years.  The main characters- Harrison & Cera -have been very patient, but of late have been tinkering with the program, hatching their own plots and getting grouchy when I try to bring them back to the homestead.  (No, that’s not a clue….altho. . .hummm…)

OUT OF THE BLUE. . .

Well it’s true. . .wonders never cease.  Got a call from a long time friend/exhibitor to take a look at her new puppy (a smooth collie from England) and to meet them at a place where I held handling classes in Mt Vernon.  Turns out I had the privilege of “admiring” a couple of Aussies also.  It was great to see every one and the young collie will certainly do her new owner proud.  Then, yesterday, I get a phone call inviting me (and dD-J J) to an anniversary dinner of the Bell Vernon Kennel Club which I had the privilege of being a founding member– 50 years ago! !  Good heavens to mergatroid!  That was 1964!–

I think I’ll go lay down.

THE NEW YEAR

So here I am, perched at the top (January) of my WordPress blog and no ideas of “what” will come of it.  Seems my past “New Year” attempts have always been started then slip away like melting snow–not that we have any here in our cloudy, wet, chilly, NW (and thankful Mother Nature has chosen the East for her cold weather.  But you never know, she probably has something up her sleeve….like her fave for us, rain, lots of RAIN.  Then again, green is nice.

I didn’t get into any writing last year.  It  wasn’t a good year for us.  But we have a roof over our heads, food in the frige, a computer, TV…and BOOKS, oh my!  Lots of books, still boxed (some in storage) ranging from my grandmothers cook book and more; the Jane Austen, Diana Gabaldon, and Janet Daily seriers; Westerns (including Native American histories); cabins, horses, chickens, wilderness, dogs (of course), Washington and local, historicals, and, of course, “How To–” writing books.  Hey, you never know where your next (or first) book ideas will come from.  So I’m pretty much ready, waiting for Ms Muse to come up out of the cellar and smile.
